I'm Cloris, founder of Miss Reese's Gourmet Sweets and Treats.

I was born and raised in Chicago and my story is one of faith, resilience, and redemption.

Life didn't always unfold the way I imagined. I survived domestic violence not once, but twice. I battled addiction and experienced some of the darkest seasons of my life. There were moments when I felt broken, lost, and uncertain of what my future would hold. But through God's grace, determination, and a refusal to give up on myself, I found my way back.

Throughout every challenge, one thing remained constant: my love for creating sweets and snacks that brought people joy.

What many people don't know is that my journey into gourmet popcorn began with simple experiments in my kitchen. I spent years learning, testing, and perfecting flavors, even starting with something as simple as boxed macaroni and cheese while trying to create the perfect cheese popcorn. What began as curiosity grew into passion, and eventually became the signature gourmet popcorn that now represents my Chicago roots and my love for bringing people together.

For more than 20 years, I've shared my homemade treats with family, friends, coworkers, and anyone lucky enough to stop by my kitchen. They encouraged me to believe in what I was creating, even during seasons when I struggled to believe in myself.

Miss Reese's Gourmet Sweets and Treats was born from that encouragement and from a promise I made to myself: that my past would not define my future.

Today, every bag of popcorn, every cookie, and every sweet treat represents more than a recipe. It represents survival. It represents healing. It represents second chances. It represents the woman who refused to quit.My mission is simple: to create handcrafted treats that bring comfort, joy, and a little sweetness into someone's day. Because I know firsthand that sometimes the smallest things can help us through the hardest moments.
